The High Cross at Moone
We were able to take a day while I was out of hospital to have a short trip to the High Cross at Moone. It was a beautiful day. It was great to get out and spend the day with my family.

On Thursday, Morgann had to go into hospital to get her tonsil, adenoids, and vents put into her ears. She was a nervous wreck before the surgery, which is totally not like her. She was in tear, which was making me want to cry for her. The Doctors and nurses were great with her. They got her to stop thinking about why she was so scared and was making her laugh. They even had a great way to put her to sleep...they made her blow up a balloon. She was laughing as she fell asleep...at least that is what it looked like. She was a real trooper. This picture was taken that night, she was ready to play but was stuck in bed to the monitor. They had to keep it on for 6 hours after the surgery.

Today we were back to our old routine. Morgann began her first day of school. It is hard to believe that this is her second year in school. She was so excited to start P2. My little girl is growing up too fast.

Maddie enjoyed bump, bumping down the stairs, that she came home with a dirty bum. Daddy was able to get the shoes he needed while he was there...even Grampy found a pair of runners! Harvest Assembly
Today at Morgann's school,they had invited all the parents out for their Harvest Assembly. The theme of the assembly was about Harvest. We sang a really neat song, "It Takes an Almighty Hand to make the harvest grow". All the classes did something special. Morgann's class sang a song about picking the harvest. Some of older classes quoted poems about the harvest. They also had a special speaker in to do the Children's talk. He was a minister from a church in Antrim. He spoke on the harvest and how we need to share the things we have. We need to be thankful for the things we have. God has given us so much including his Son, who died for our sins. It was really neat to see that the gospel was given in the assembly time. The kids all did a great job on the skit, songs, and poems that they put on today.

Morgann is the Student of the Week!
Morgann came home on Friday and informed us that she was the P-1 student of the week at her school. She was so excited. She was recognized as a friendly student that was helpful to others. She even got a certificate (which she left at school). Congrats to my little girl who is growing up so fast. I am so proud of her.

Terrible Twos Already!! Maddie has an obsession with food. She can't keep her hands off of food, no matter what it is. Everyone has a good laugh about her love for food. I think she will eat anything that doesn't eat her first. This day, she got into the jar of hot chocolate. It was everywhere!! I don't know how she got it or where she got it from, but she got it. I finally had to move the food around and put it into a cabinet that I can lock.

Nadia, Olivia, and Morgann were outside playing after school the other day. One of the boys in our estate had this cool bicycle out. He let the girls take a turn on it. It was so funny watching them try to pull each other on it. Morgann took a turn trying to ride it. Her legs were not quite long enough the pedal it. She had a great time trying.

Saturday we went to the Martin and Carrie's house for Martin's Birthday. The girls had a great time together. The always play so well together. Morgann is going to miss Ashleigh when she moves to England.

Morgann went to Lara's birthday last Saturday. She had her birthday party at the Fun Farm. It was a awful day with the rain, but the kids loved the play area and playing with the animals. The were able to see ponies, baby rabbits, guinea pigs, kittens, and a baby duck (her name was Jamima Puddleduck). They finished the day with a lovely dinner of sausages and chip (one of Morgann's favorites).

Another Elmo fan is in the family, can you believe that... Maddie absolutely love Elmo. She has taken over all of Morgann's old Sesame Street animals and claimed them as her own. It is nice that Morgann still hasn't outgrown Elmo too much, she still watches it with Maddie when she gets home from school. When Morgann gets tired of Elmo, they have a nice compromise...DORA!

Today Morgann was riding her bicycle with her friends Nadia and Holly. Nadia got Morgann to try to ride her bicycle with out the training wheel or stabalizers as they call them here. She took off! She decided she didn't need them anymore. Matt took her training wheels off. She is off with the big girls now.

We survived the first week of school! Morgann loved going everyday! It was so neat to see the change in her. She was excited everyday to go. We had no problems getting her into bed at night. She was exhausted by the end of the day. She was easy to get up every morning. I hope she continues to enjoy her school experience. Mrs. Watson gave each of the students a certificate for completing their first week of school! Way to go MO!!

Today Morgann began her first day of school at Loanends Primary School. She has been so excited to start at her new school. The day was great. She got up and got ready with no trouble. When we arrived at school, her teacher met us at the door. Her teacher's name is Mrs. Watson. She had no problems leaving my side, she just joined in with the rest of the class. I was so proud of her. She is really growing up.

Friday night we celebrated Morgann's Birthday. We had a great time. Morgann had a few friends over to play and to eat cake. I think Morgann really enjoyed herself. The girls decorated cookies and played outside. I can't believe my little girl will be 5 on Monday. It seems like yesterday she was born. She is turning out to be a very sweet little girl who I am very proud of.

This week, we did some school shopping for Morgann while we were at Grammy and Grampy's house. We were able to get all of her uniform. She got 2 packages of shirts, one long sleeves the other short sleeves. The packages came with two shirts in each. We got her two packages of undershirts, which she calls wife beaters...she got that from Matt. We got a jumper and skirt (buy one get one free!) We found some shoes at the Clarks outlet. She really loves her pink sneakers (they light up). Grammy got her a backpack that came with a pencil case. I think we did really good at finding everything. Morgann is looking forward to the first day of school now. We only have a few more days to go. She starts on the 2nd of September.

Our ''WET'' Adventure

This weekend has been quiet an adventure for the Parrow house. The house started very quiet, Morgann went down South with Grammy and Grampy to spend some time with them. It has been raining here for the last few days, but not really bad. Saturday, it became really bad! We had torrential rains. The roads were flooding all over the place. We live by the Six Mile River. The River was overflowing everywhere. Our housing estate was flooded. We are praising the Lord that the flooding did not get into the house, but it did get into the garage where Matt's office is. We were able to get most things out before it got bad. I know there are many others in the estate that have had much more damage than we did. We finally left the house about 2 am to get somewhere safe. We went to the Green's house to escape all the water. It was great to have someone nearby that we could call. We came by the house on Sunday to see what the damage was. The Lord really took care of our family. We have to get rid of a few things but it could have been a lot worse. I am thankful that Morgann was not here. She would have been really scared...then want to play in it. Maddie slept through it all until we left. Hopefully we won't see that much rain anytime soon.

This past week we were able to take Morgann to the Holiday Bible Club at Faith Baptist Church. When we got there we had a unexpected surprise. Some old friends were there. Bob Landis and his M.T.T. team were there. He was the first missionary Matt and I had in our home. There was also a family from one of our supporting churches that recognized us right away. We had a good time of fellowship. Morgann loved her time at the Holiday Bible that week. The M.T.T. team was great. I wish I had done something like this when I was in college.

Visit from Dr. Moritz

Dr. Moritz came and visited us this week. It was really nice to have someone from our home church come and visit us. The girls really enjoyed having him around. Matt enjoyed the fellowship and all the chats they were able to have. We even took him around Northern Ireland since it was the first time he had been here. Dr. Moritz even made Maddie an Alabama fan while he was here. Matt wasn't too happy about that since he is a Tennessee fan.

We were able to go to the Giants Causeway and around the coast with the Bissetts and the Greens. Morgann had a great time with her buddy, Jamie. The kids loved playing in the water and the rocks. It was a beautiful day on the coast.

Last night we went to Lough Neagh with the Bissetts just for a time of fun. We were able to walk around and let the girls feed the ducks and swans. We even got an extra treat...Ice cream. We had such a good time out.

Going Bananas over Bananas

The last couple of weeks Maddie has been climbing all over everything, including the table. Of course, there is one thing she is after...Food! She loves to climb on the kitchen table to get bananas. There is one thing I hate is banana stains. You can't get them out. I finally found a way to get those annoying stains out. Those stains drive me bananas. Here is how I got those stains out. You put the clothes into a bowl with detergent (I used oxyclean). Put boiling water in. Let stand for 30 minutes. They disappear! I was so glad to find a way to get them out. Hope it helps all those moms who go bananas over those banana stains.

We took a trip down south to finally visit the new addition to the Parrow Clan. We were able to celebrate the arrival of baby AJ with a baby shower. LeAnn made a beautiful cake. Ais, Shauna, and I made a nappy cake. Grammy gave a bit of a testimony of when she had Caleb. Then the mom's all gave a bit of advise to Holly. We all had a great time. It was a blessing to be able to celebrate this special addition.

The "Middle Wife" by an Anonymous 2nd grade teacher

I've been teaching now for about fifteen years. I have two kids myself, but the best birth story I know is the one I saw in my own second grade classroom a few years back.

When I was a kid, I loved show-and-tell. So I always have a few sessions with my students. It helps them get over shyness and usually, show-and-tell is pretty tame. Kids bring in pet turtles, model airplanes, pictures of fish they catch, stuff like that. And I never, ever place any boundaries or limitations on them. If they want to lug it in to school and talk about it, they're welcome.

Well, one day this little girl, Erica, a very bright, very outgoing kid, takes her turn and waddles up to the front of the class with a pillow stuffed under her sweater.

She h olds up a snapshot of an infant. "This is Luke, my baby brother, and I'm going to tell you about his birthday."

"First, Mom and Dad made him as a symbol of their love, and then Dad put a seed in my Mom's stomach, and Luke grew in there. He ate for nine months through an umbrella cord."

She's standing there with her hands on the pillow, and I'm trying not to laugh and wishing I had my camcorder with me. The kids are watching her in amazement.

"Then, about two Saturdays ago, my Mom starts saying and going, 'Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh!' Erica puts a hand behind her back and groans. "She walked around the house for, like an hour, 'Oh, oh, oh!' (Now this kid is doing a hysterical duck walk and groaning.)

"My Dad called the middle wife. She delivers babies, but she doesn't have a sign on the car like the Domino's man. They got my Mom to lie down in bed like this." (Then Erica lies down with her back against the wall.)

"And then, pop! My Mom had this bag of water she kept in there in case he got thirsty, and it just blew up and spilled all over the bed, like psshhheew!" (This kid has her legs spread with her little hands miming water flowing away. It was too much!)

"Then the middle wife starts saying 'push, push,' and 'breathe, breathe. They started counting, but never even got past ten. Then, all of a sudden, out comes my brother. He was covered in yucky stuff that they all said it was from Mom's play-center, so there must be a lot of toys inside there."

Then Erica stood up, took a big theatrical bow and returned to her seat. I'm sure I applauded the loudest. Ever since then, when it's show-and-tell day, I bring my camcorder, just in case another "Middle Wife" comes along.

Family Fun Day!

Last Saturday, our church had a Family Fun Day for the families of the kids that come for the Countdown Club. It was a great day. Many of the kids were able to come out for the day. Many of the Church members came out to with their families. It was a great way to get to know some of them and to be able to build relationships with them too. It was great to see about 75 people come out. We are hoping that this opened some doors to minister to these families and to be a blessing.

We were all teamed up into groups to play a game....this was the little kids team. They didn't want to get split up.

Matt at his station. We had to figure out what parts of the body were hurt and bandage them. It was tough, even Dr. Green didn't know some of the parts they wanted us to bandage. It was so funny to see the little ones trying to do this.

Jaime and Morgann at Belfast Castle Park. Jaime is the Bissett's grandson. He and Morgann have become great friends.They had a great time playing at the park.

Poor Morgann fell and hurt her arm and leg. Jaime was so worried about his friend. He held her hand all the way back to the car.
